Privacy by design
BowPro+ is designed to operate locally on your device.
The application does not require an account, login or continuous internet connection. BowPro+ does not operate a remote service for storing your equipment setups, velocity measurements, sight tapes or ballistic data.
We do not sell personal data, use personal data for advertising, track users across applications or websites, or create advertising profiles.
Information stored on your device
BowPro+ may store information that you enter or generate, including:
- bow, arrow, vane and sight configurations;
- shooting and environmental settings;
- Chrono velocity readings;
- Phrono velocity readings and accepted-shot statistics;
- Phrono microphone-position and target-distance settings;
- ballistic calculations, sight tapes and cut charts;
- application preferences and selected measurement units;
- saved BowPro+ workspace and sight-tape packages.
This information is stored locally in the application’s private storage area. It is not automatically transmitted to Hogmoose or any developer-operated server.
You control this information through the application’s Save, Load, Reset, Delete, Share and Export functions.
Microphone use
BowPro+ uses the microphone for the Phrono audio chronograph.
Microphone access begins only when you start a Phrono recording and after you grant the application microphone permission through iOS.
Recorded sound is analysed locally on your device to identify the bow-shot and arrow-impact sounds and to calculate arrow velocity and related diagnostic values.
Raw microphone audio is:
- processed locally on your device;
- not transmitted to Hogmoose or uploaded to a BowPro+ server;
- not used for advertising or user profiling;
- not retained as part of the ordinary saved shot result after the measurement and any export operation you explicitly request are completed.
If you choose Share data after a Phrono shot, the corresponding audio recording is included in the exported diagnostic package. The recording covers the shot-measurement interval and may contain voices, environmental noise or other background sounds captured in addition to the bow-shot and arrow-impact sounds. You should therefore review the circumstances of the recording before sharing it and choose the recipient or external service carefully.
When you accept a Phrono result, BowPro+ may retain derived information such as velocity, calculated flight time, timing corrections, signal characteristics, geometry, environmental values and solver diagnostics. These values remain stored locally until you delete or reset them.
Camera use
BowPro+ may use the camera when you activate a Chrono scanning feature or the Cut Solver.
For Chrono scanning, camera frames are processed locally to read and validate a velocity value shown on a compatible chronograph display. In the Cut Solver, the live camera view provides a target-facing aiming reference while the device’s motion sensors measure the uphill or downhill line-of-sight angle used by the ballistic calculation.
BowPro+ does not upload or retain camera images or video from these operations and does not use them for identification, advertising or analytics.
Camera access occurs only after you grant permission through iOS.
Sharing and exporting
BowPro+ allows you to save, export or share equipment setups, Speed workspaces, sight-tape packages and PDF reports.
Sharing is initiated explicitly by you. Depending on the selected function, BowPro+ may create a recipient-specific encrypted and signed package containing information such as:
- bow, arrow, vane and sight data;
- environmental Setup data;
- Chrono and Phrono readings;
- accepted Phrono shot diagnostics;
- the Phrono audio recording, when you choose Share data after the shot;
- sight-tape configuration and marks.
BowPro+ does not operate a relay server for these transfers. The package is passed to the iOS system share interface, where you choose the recipient or external service.
Once you send or export a file, its handling is governed by the recipient and by the privacy practices of the application, cloud service, email provider or storage service you selected. Hogmoose cannot access, control or delete copies held by those recipients or services.
Data collected by Hogmoose
The BowPro+ application does not transmit application usage data, equipment information, measurements, audio, camera images, identifiers or diagnostics to Hogmoose.
BowPro+ does not include developer-operated:
- advertising services;
- behavioural analytics;
- cross-app tracking;
- user accounts;
- cloud synchronization;
- remote equipment or measurement storage.
When you contact us directly by email, through the website message form or through another support channel, we receive the contact details and message content you choose to provide. We use this information only to answer your request, investigate a reported issue or provide support.
The website message form uses a short-lived essential security cookie, rate limits and one-way technical hashes to prevent automated abuse and repeated submissions. The contact record does not store the visitor’s raw IP address. Submissions that appear automated or abusive may be quarantined for review.
The website feature-development board uses an optional first-party voting cookie to give the browser an anonymous voting identity. The server stores only a one-way keyed hash of that identifier, the feature voted for and the vote time; it does not store the raw voting cookie. A daily rotating one-way network hash may be retained briefly for abuse-rate limiting, without geolocation or voter profiling. Declining the cookie leaves the board readable but disables voting. The board’s opening totals include the clearly disclosed prototype starting figures, with live public votes added afterward.
The BowPro+ website uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-FNNDKS630Y) only if you enable Analytics in Cookie settings. The Google tag is not requested from Google before analytics consent. When enabled, Google Analytics may process first-party cookie identifiers, pages viewed and other website interaction data, referring information, browser and device characteristics, and approximate geographic location. Google states that IP addresses are used during collection for functions such as location derivation and service security but are not logged or stored in Google Analytics. Hogmoose uses the resulting reports to understand how the public website is used and to improve its content and navigation. This implementation is not used for advertising, remarketing or cross-site profiling.
Third-party services
BowPro+ uses Apple-provided operating-system functions such as:
- App Store distribution;
- permission management;
- document selection;
- printing and PDF preview;
- the iOS share sheet;
- local device storage.
Apple and any external application or service you select may process information under their own privacy policies. This Privacy Policy applies only to BowPro+ and Hogmoose.
If the website message form detects strong signs of automated abuse, it may display Cloudflare Turnstile as a verification step. In that case Cloudflare processes the browser and network information needed to provide and validate the challenge. Turnstile is not shown for ordinary submissions.
Google Analytics is provided by Google. When Analytics is enabled, website measurement data is sent to Google and processed under Google’s Google Analytics terms and privacy practices. BowPro+ configures the Google tag with advertising storage, advertising user-data consent and advertising personalization denied, and disables Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals in the site configuration. More information is available in Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data safeguards.
Data retention and deletion
BowPro+ retains locally stored information until you:
- delete an individual saved item or reading;
- reset Chrono or Phrono data;
- replace data by loading another package;
- remove the application and its local data from your device.
Files that you exported or shared are stored outside BowPro+ and must be deleted separately from their destination.
Support communications sent directly to Hogmoose may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support history, resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations.
Anonymous feature votes may be retained while the public development board remains active. Short-lived voting rate-limit records are automatically removed after no more than approximately 48 hours. Clearing the voting cookie prevents future votes from being linked to the same anonymous browser identifier, but does not remove a vote already counted.
Google Analytics data already collected is retained according to the retention settings of the BowPro+ Google Analytics property. You can revoke Analytics at any time through Cookie settings. Revocation disables further BowPro+ Analytics collection in that browser and the website attempts to remove its Google Analytics first-party cookies, but it does not retroactively delete measurement data already received by Google.
Your choices and rights
You may deny or later revoke microphone or camera access through the iOS Settings application. Features requiring the revoked permission will no longer operate, but other BowPro+ functions remain available.
Because application data is stored locally and is not accessible to Hogmoose, you can access, change and delete it directly within BowPro+ or by deleting the application.
Website Cookie settings let you enable or disable the anonymous voting cookie and Google Analytics independently. Neither optional category is required to browse the public website.
For personal information that you have sent directly to Hogmoose—for example in a support email—you may contact us to request access, correction or deletion, subject to applicable law.
Security
BowPro+ uses the security mechanisms provided by iOS for local application storage.
Recipient-specific BowPro+ sharing packages use cryptographic protection intended to preserve package confidentiality and integrity. However, no electronic storage or transfer method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for selecting appropriate recipients and for protecting exported files after they leave BowPro+.
Children’s privacy
BowPro+ does not require users to provide their name, age, email address or other identity information and is not designed to collect personal information from children.
A parent or guardian who believes that a child has sent personal information directly to Hogmoose may contact us to request its deletion.
International transfers
BowPro+ does not transfer locally stored application data to Hogmoose or to a developer-operated server.
When you deliberately share or export information using an external service, that service may process the information in other countries according to its own terms and privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when BowPro+ functionality, legal requirements or data-handling practices change.
The revised policy will show a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the application, the BowPro+ website or the App Store listing where appropriate.
